mugen 2
Having overcloaked my "Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550@2.8 GHz" 3.4 GHz, I preferred to install a cooler more performat the cooler base. I chose the Scythe MUGEN 2 which offers very good performance / price ratio ...

You will find on the net many comparative tests are very detailed. I propose here simply to show you the changes in temperature as I have observed.

My configuration:
Processor : Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.8 GHz (overcloacked à 3.4 GHz)
Socket : 775
Motherboard : ASUS P5Q (BIOS version 2102 - 04/07/2009)
RAM : Corsair DDR2 4 Go (freq : 2 x 533 Mhz)
Graphics : ATI Radeon HD 3600 Series (DDR2 512 M)

Packaging and Context :

Ventirad Mugen 2 Ventirad Mugen 2 Ventirad Mugen 2 Ventirad Mugen 2 Ventirad Mugen 2 Ventirad Mugen 2 Ventirad Mugen 2

Comparisons of temperatures :

CPU At rest CPU idle 100 %
Before installing the Mugen 2 At rest before installing the Mugen 2 CPU 100% before installing the Mugen 2
After installing the Mugen 2 At rest after installing the Mugen 2 CPU 100% after installing the Mugen 2

Review:
There were no large temperature differences at rest, however, 100% of processor cores increased from 85 °C to 58 °C !
